Ballast Hills Burial Ground
Ballast Hills Burial Ground (BHBG), situated on the border between Byker and the Ouseburn, Newcastle upon Tyne, is a historically significant yet often overlooked site. Once the primary non-conformist burial ground for the city, BHBG served Newcastle from the early 1600s until its closure in 1853. Despite its rich history, the site has remained largely unknown and under-researched. Now, as part of an AHRC funded research project, a team at Newcastle University are uncovering its past. They wanted us to provide some drone footage of the site and our footage ended up featuring on BBC Look North.
